I didn’t have a good reason for changing my putter. At the end of the day i was sure that if i didn’t hole a putt then it was only me to blame. Then, if I was to be honest, I didn’t go crazy every time I saw a new type of putter on sale, often just a new version of an old, already seen model. At least not until I saw the “Space” model of Bputters for the first time: good looking with an original and reassuring design style, an elegant finish and the immediate feeling of having something well made in your hands. I then found out that it wasn’t just good looking but it actually had that spellbinding touch from the very first putt, a perfect blend of elegance and precision.

It was in this way that I first discovered an Italian company that was challenging the custom milled putter market by presenting a really interesting range of hand crafted putters, each model characterized by its own specific identity and personality, patiently hand made and finished one by one, at an affordable price without having to compromise on quality.

Bputters are custom putters not just in words but also in reality. It is finally possible to have each model with the right loft, perfectly adapted to each individuals movement, technique and the type of green. Furthermore you can also personalize the shaft (single bend, double bend, triple bend), the lie angle and the type of grip, from leather with relief stitching to the brand new Super Stroke grips. Each putter head is created from a single block of Italian inox steel, or in carbon for those who prefer a softer touch. As far as the finishes are concerned....there is a wealth of choice and I can personally guarantee that that is not an easy thing to achieve. Each finish is a work of art and an example of design perfection that only an Italian company could create. There is a myriad of options, each one able to make your putter unique and let’s be honest, the possibility of personalizing your putter with your own name is priceless.

When I finally got the chance to try out the various models of the Bputters range, i was very surprised at how easy it had been for them to make putters that are easy to play with but at the same time beautiful to look at. I thought that these were characteristics that only the most famed American producers were able to offer. The models available are the Hammer, the Panther, the Coyote and Space. The Hammer is a traditional putter, perfectly reworked in a modern style with an innovative look. According to the chosen finish you get the feeling of getting hold a different work of art each time. The touch is that of a first class putter. The Panther has soft lines, a shape that helps alignment and gives an exceptional roll. I tried one with a black pvd finish but the version with the white, satin finish is stunning. The Coyote has a centrally mounted shaft and its long tails, as well as being aesthetically attractive, also guarantee great balance. With a black gloss finish and red etchings it is a work of art. The roll of the ball is excellent and it gives you a very pure sense of precision and equilibrium.

Space is without doubt, the putter with the most aggressive, innovative and uncompromising design. Over the ball it gives great confidence but when you get to the green and take it from your bag it feels like your extracting Excalibur from the rock. Its design is perfect for all those who want a bit of help in lining up, whilst keeping a head that isn’t too big. On impact with the ball, the feeling is of solidity and the roll of the ball is totally convincing.

It was in this way that I made up my mind: I put a splendid Space BPutter in my bag but all the Bputter models will be available to my pupils during my Putting clinics, as well as during the Demo Day.
